Psalms 119 and 105 tells us that God’s word is a lamp unto our feet and it lights our pathway and I think sometimes when we’re dealing with fear and uncertainty not only does God tell us to have courage and to continue to to do it regardless but that we don’t have to do this thing alone. God’s word is is is the roadmap and I tell people there’s not one thing that we go through it doesn’t have to be one thing it doesn’t have to be one thing it doesn’t have to be one thing it doesn’t matter what the category is relationships finance school whatever he has something to say about every area of our life and that’s where the hope is and that’s where the the word comes and brings us light in the midst of the uncertainty but it’s important to remember that a lamp doesn’t illuminate miles ahead it just provides enough light for the next step. Remember we talked about Joseph and we talked about Joseph and we talked about Joseph and we talked about Joseph and we gave Joseph God gave Joseph just enough information just enough for the cliffhanger to to to to whet his appetite but he didn’t tell him what it was going to cost he gave him just enough to get Joseph to the next step and that’s often how God leads we want complete clarity but God frequently gives daily guidance he teaches us to trust him one step at a time and because of it discernment isn’t simply recognizing God’s voice but it’s about having the courage to obey once we’ve heard him sometimes we hear him and we’re like okay God was that really you and this happens to me all the time even though I’ve been with the Lord as a intercessor for for many years he’ll tell me to do something and I’ll be like okay I’m I’m gonna hold for just And then he’ll say it again. And I’m like, okay, I’m going to hold for just a moment. And then he’ll say it one more time because he understands that in my case, I don’t want to dishonor him. And I definitely don’t want to go ahead of him. And I don’t necessarily want to go in and of myself. And so he has to remind me and affirm me and say, hey, it’s really okay. Follow me. I know where it is that I want to lead you, but I need you to move when I call to you. And because of that, spiritual maturity grows when we move forward in faith, even when we cannot see the entire picture. And what I love about that is that the goal of discernment is not certainty. The goal is trust. And just a little side note, we’re always going to be faced with fear. Always. The key is to work through the fear. And that’s where trusting God becomes such a powerful key. That being said, let’s pray. Father God, give us the courage to obey you when you speak. Help us trust your direction, even when we cannot see the entire path. Strengthen our faith. And teach us to walk confidently in you. And we will bless you in Jesus name.
