You’ve prayed about it. You’ve laid it before God. But if you’re honest, you’re still holding on to exactly how, when, and in what way you want it to turn out.
Valarie gently points out that sometimes what we call surrender is really a plan we’re asking God to approve. True surrender leaves room for Him to answer differently than we expected. Letting go of control is hard because we have real hopes and preferences, but trusting God means believing His wisdom is still good even when His answer looks different from ours. We can ask boldly and still surrender completely. Those aren’t opposites. That’s trust. Today’s prayer brings our desires honestly before Him while releasing our demand to control the outcome, asking for faith to trust His wisdom, His timing, and His direction.
Scripture anchor: Psalm 37:5, “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this.”
