When someone asks how you’re doing, you say “I’m fine.” But underneath are words someone said, mistakes you can’t undo, and expectations that never came true. You’ve carried them so long you barely notice the weight anymore.
As the Letting Go series begins, Valarie invites us to make room for what God is doing next. This month isn’t about giving up. It’s about surrendering the hurt, control, and disappointment that keep us from following where He is leading. Just because we’ve learned how to carry something doesn’t mean God intends for us to keep carrying it. Not everything we hold is sinful, but some things are simply too heavy to bring into the next season. Prayer gives us a place to name what we’re carrying, and surrender begins with honesty. Today’s prayer asks God to show us what we were never meant to keep, give us courage to release it, and make room in our hearts for what He’s doing next.
Scripture anchor: Hebrews 12:1, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.”

This week, ask yourself, “What am I carrying that has become too heavy?” Name it, pray about it, and begin releasing it. And if someone came to mind while you listened, share this episode with them. Leave at the throne what you were never meant to carry.
