It’s hard to turn the page when you don’t know what the next chapter holds. You know exactly what you’re releasing. You just can’t see yet what you’ll be receiving.
Valarie reminds us that this is what makes letting go so difficult, and why it requires faith. We often want God to reveal what’s next before we’re willing to fully release what was. But sometimes we have to let go first, and then we discover. Our foundation isn’t certainty about circumstances, which can always change. Our confidence rests in God’s presence, and He is still there in whatever comes next. Today’s prayer tells God honestly that we don’t know everything the next chapter holds, but we trust Him. It asks Him to keep us from returning to what He has helped us release just because the future feels unfamiliar, and to give us faith to keep moving forward with Him.
