You keep looking back, hoping something will return to the way it was. A relationship, an opportunity, a season of life you weren’t ready to see end.
Sometimes we’re waiting for God to restore something He’s actually asking us to release. Moving forward means accepting that something has to change, or already has, and that can feel painful. Valarie reassures us that letting go doesn’t mean what happened didn’t matter. It did. Something can be meaningful for one season without being meant for every season. Prayer helps us honor what was without becoming trapped there. Today’s prayer asks God for discernment to recognize when He’s calling us forward, grace to release what has ended without bitterness or fear, gratitude for what was, and faith for what He’s doing now.
Scripture anchor: Isaiah 43:18-19, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”

Take a quiet moment today and ask, “Am I waiting for something to return that God is asking me to release?” Don’t force an answer. Just bring the question to Him, and share this prayer with someone who’s struggling to move forward.
