Walking in Spiritual Discernment
Have you ever been so emotionally tapped out — so close to flatlining — that you felt like, God, if You don’t come, I’m just not going to make it? We often expect God’s guidance to arrive dramatically, but many times His answer comes quietly, in the form of peace.
In today’s prayer, Valarie takes us to the prophet Elijah — stressed, emotionally spent, desperate for answers. God’s voice wasn’t in the earthquake or in the fire, but in the still, small voice. And Valarie reminds us why: God is always the perfect gentleman. He won’t shout over us. When our emotions are tumultuous like waves of the sea, we have to bridle our mind and quiet our heart before His answer can be heard clearly. She prays for us to recognize the peace that comes from His presence and trust it when we find it, for prayer to become the place where confusion gives way to clarity and fear gives way to faith. This prayer is for anyone waiting on a dramatic sign when God may be answering softly.
