It’s easy to believe everyone else has life figured out — the perfect hair, the perfect answers, the confident decisions — while you’re the one still feeling stuck. And before long, we start comparing our uncertainty to someone else’s confidence and doubting ourselves.
In today’s prayer, Valarie anchors us in James 1:5-6 — that God gives wisdom generously to all who ask without finding fault, and that we don’t have to be like waves tossed back and forth by the wind, volatile and unsure whether we’re coming or going. She reminds us that spiritual discernment isn’t about having all the answers; truth be told, we’ll probably have more questions than answers. It’s about trusting the One who does. She prays for freedom from comparing our journey to someone else’s, for confidence in God’s timing and peace in the process, and for our confidence to rest in Him rather than in certainty. This prayer is for anyone measuring their uncertainty against what only appears to be perfection.
